Our mission is to grow Kentucky businesses to positively impact people, our planet, and our future.

We are a nonprofit working to support and recognize for-profit businesses with a stated social or environmental mission. Making Kentucky First in Good Business

Our mission is to grow Kentucky businesses to positively impact people, our planet, and our future.

We are a nonprofit working to support and recognize for-profit businesses with a stated social or environmental mission. From our headquarters in Louisville’s Portland Neighborhood, our Team has worked with business owners and leaders throughout the state to create the Canopy Certification. Our Certification has two intentions: guide companies toward greater impact and recognize them when they are doing it well.

Canopy believes that Kentucky businesses – in partnership with nonprofit and government organizations – can make a positive impact on pressing issues by providing diversified funding, additional human resources, and innovative solutions. We work to provide connection between Kentuckians who want access to impact driven businesses in order to create formalized operational and financial partnerships.

We are dedicated to growing awareness and culture around the Good Business Movement through educational outreach, resources, and events.

Scott Koloms

Founder

Scott Koloms has passionately advocated for a socially conscious and impact-driven business movement in Kentucky for the last two years. He dreams of Kentucky having the strongest, most effective group of for-profit social enterprises in the country. Over the last few years, Koloms played a pivotal role in the passage of the Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) legislation in Kentucky. As President and owner of Facilities Management Services (FMS), PBC, Koloms also led FMS to become the first public benefit corporation in Kentucky and the first janitorial services company in the world to become a certified B Corp.

I love being part of this transformational movement in Kentucky where I can use my business acumen and nonprofit experience for Good.
